A Saber-toothed Gray Cat stalking the feral onion

When Bernadette was living on her own in New York for a few years (a wonderful opportunity impossible to give up), she reported that her standard way of getting motivated to prepare dinner was to come home and toss an onion into the frying pan.  The smell of frying onion made her very hungry and she would then figure out what to add to it to create a dinner.  We attributed this to her ancestral Jungian memory of the early Saber-toothed Gray Cats, who would often stalk the feral onion.
